  • A fantastic Christ Presbyterian Church Business Networking Group networking event on Tuesday, July 19 in Edina.  Keynote speaker was Sam Richter who shared:  Know More Networking!  The CPC BNG is a Christian-based networking group and hosts events every other month for Twin Cities-based professionals.   • On July 21 shared at the 701 Building Creating Your Unique Executive Brand, a summary of the executive education course, Optimizing Your Unique Executive Brand, I instruct at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management.  Here's more information on the July 21 lunch-and-learn, hosted by Meisha Johnson.  Here's my sketch deck.
  • Delivered Optimizing Your Unique CEO Brand on June 1 to AceTech Ontario at their Annual CEO Retreat.  Here's a short video of my keynote and workshop.
  • Interviewed 20 leading pain management physicians in the US as part of the  preparation for the Neuromodulation Therapy Access Coalition's (NTAC) pain society collaboration meeting on June 13 in Chicago.  This meeting was a historic event, setting the strategic course for the future of pain management in the US as a new group making up the four leading pain societies formed the Council of Pain Physician Societies. 
    Created and delivered Optimizing Your Unique Executive Brand for the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, for May 3, as part of their Executive Education series.  This will be a terrific session for those executives and managers who need to reinvent how they create value and distinguish themselves as brands.  This is an open enrollment program, so register soon as it's expected to fill quickly.  If you couldn't make May 3, join me on September 13 for the next session.   • Delivered two keynote presentations to the Institute of Internal Auditors in Chicago on April 4:  Leadership That Screams Results! and The Hole in Your Team.
  • Presented to the varsity baseball team at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota on Saturday, February 12 on Becoming Your Best in Baseball and Life in Winona, Minnesota;
  • Meisha Johnson previews my upcoming book, The Hole in Your Team, to be released in the spring of 2011.

  • Moderator and panelist at Harvard Business School's Healthcare Alumni Conference, November 4 -6 in Boston.
  • Conducted high-impact training session, Leadership That Screams Results! for market-leading, high-growth medical device company's extended leadership team in Irvine, CA on November 3.  We covered communication and leadership styles, discovering your leadership VOICE and creating a great working climate for others.
  • Participated in the OCTANe Medical Device and Investor Forum in Newport Beach, CA on October 25 - 26;
  • Appearned on NBC's WTMJ- Milwaukee on October 21to discuss What's the Most Valuable Question You'll Ever Learn on The Morning Blend.
  • Shared Personal Branding Basics for the C-level Executive in Minneapolis;
  • Appeared on NBC's WTMJ-Milwaukee on August 13, where I discussed What Every Leader Must Do on The Morning Blend;
  • Announced upcoming appearances on NBC's WTMJ-Milwaukee The Morning Blend for the remainder of 2010 as their leadership/executive coach expert;
  • Appeared on NBC's WTMJ-Milwaukee on Wednesday July 28th.  See my interview on The Morning Blend where I discussed Making Your Star Rise at Work with co-hosts Tiffany Ogle and Molly Fay;
  • Assisting Raoul Quintero, CEO of MAQUET Cardiovascular, build a gold standard top leadership team. Top 12 executives completed the self-administered ASSESS for Executives and the Proception2 and received feedback.  Next up, our HayGroup administered multi-rater assessment tools and then customized individual development plans for each team member.  MAQUET Cardiovascular is the gold standard in the OR and Cardiac Catherization labs.  Soon, their top team will perform to the gold standard, too.
  • Excited about the launch of the latest in the series of compilation books, The Power of the Platform: Speakers on Life, which includes my chapter, The Hole in Your Team. Other co-authors include Jack Canfield, Brian Tracy, Les Brown and other world-class authors and speakers.
  • Appeared on Next Stage Business Radio 1570 AM with host Pamela Muldoon for the Leaders & Teachers segment on June 26th.  I shared ideas for Creating Executive Value, concepts for leaders, entrepreneurs and their teams.  We discussed leaders recently in the news, e.g., BP and General Stanley McChrystal and what they might have done differently;
  • Conducted a lunch and learn at 701 Building on How to Work with Anyone.

  • Appeared in 12 of Canada's largest daily newspapers recently on the topic first reported by the Financial Post, Canada's business daily, on The Folly of Performance Reviews.  This article has also appeared in the National Post, the Regina Leader Post, the New Brunswick Business Journal, the Saskatoon Star Phoenix, the Ottawa Citizen, East Coast –New Brunswick, Telegraph Journal –Canada East, Edmonton Journal, Vancouver Sun, Calgary Herald and the Montreal Gazette.
  • What's a great way to gain alignment with your boss and direct reports?  Try the Working in 5 Directions technique. 
  • Just finished working with an Orange County-hq'd medtech company, worked with a top team, to assist them in creating greater self-awareness, build their leadership capabilties and create great results. Starting with two self- assessments: ASSESS for Executives and Proception2 and then multi-rater assessments to create greater value as executives: the Emotional Competence Inventory, Inventory of  Leadership Styles and Organizational Climate Survey.
  • Conducted an Organizational Climate Survey Workout for a newly formed top team in Los Angeles to pinpoint what they can do to improve their working climate and team performance.
  • Interviewed in the Financial Post (Canada's leading business daily) on Management's Conspiracy of Silence;
  • Spoke in Toronto at the Convention Centre for the Human Resources Professionals Association 20th Annual Conference. Topic of my presentation:  The Dirtiest Little Secret in Business:  The Absence of Supportive Candor.
